Footnotes
Quite possibly the best quote I've read in class so far this semester: "This highly stylized example [the invention of the grenade harpoon] is of course chosen to honor the conference site of Tjøme, not because I have any knowledge of whaling, my entire contact with which consists of having eaten whale steak about thirty-five years ago at a Norwegian restaurant whose name I cannot recall but which was located in an alley between Boylston and Eliot Streets in Boston, right between the old Trailways bus station."
